Not everything can go in our blue recycling bins in the garage.
Please look at the signs above the bins that explain what can be
recycled curbside and what cannot. There is a sign the lists garbage items that
cannot go in them.
Plastic clams and other plastic packaging is not acceptable.

A few highlights:
Wine Corks – are trash and not recyclable.
Empty aerosol spray bottles - can be recycled.
Shredded Paper –
Must be placed in the trash, but can be placed in the recycle bins,
if your shredded paper is in a brown paper bag.
Options for recycling:
At all New Seasons stores: There are bins outside that take clean plastic film
(which is stretchy plastic bags, plastic wrapping for toilet paper,
etc.) They also have bins for clear plastic take out containers and
other things with #1 in the recycle triangle.
Lithium batteries are
collected in buckets in our trash rooms on each floor for hazardous waste
recycling.
If you have other hazardous waste like paint, medicines, fluorescent lights.
You can deliver those and lithium batteries to

Periodically James Recycling
has pop-up events to recycle a variety of plastics and other items. They change
what they can receive, but they collect a great variety of plastic that are not
curbside recyclable. They charge $4/bag and are very helpful if you have
difficulty sorting.
Please see their website to learn more about this special company that was
begun by James a young adult on the autism spectrum.
He works really hard to provide legitimate recycling opportunities: https://jshrecycling.com/
